Reading is a link to a world of imagination, fun, and learning. Together we will experience and enjoy all of these things.
I have been teaching since 1999 in the St. Ignace school system. I have taught DK-8 grade and have enjoyed all of the grade levels. I have always loved to read, and truly enjoy helping students learn how to love reading as well. Now for a little history about me and my family.
I have 1 son Eric, and 1 daughter, Emily. We also have a house full of pets, we love animals. I married my husband Todd in 2005. My family grew by 3 that year, I now have 2 step daughters, Nikki and Katie. I live in Cheboygan, so I have been blessed with an amzing drive over the Might Mac every day. Some days are great, others a bit windy, but always a joy.
I grew up downstate in Gibraltar Michigan, where I graduated from high school. I then went on to get my teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University, and my masters from Grand Valley State University. I recently took graduate training at Oakland University for Reading Recovery, this has allowed me to reach students that are struggling to read. Teaching has always been my passion. I love working with kids, watching them grow and learn over the course of one year, and beyond.
Here’s to a new year, a new beginning, a new future for you, your child, and myself. Thank you for this great opportunity.
