I grew up in Spring Lake, near Grand Haven. I have an associate degree in commercial art from Ferris and a bachelor of science degree, majoring in math from Grand Valley. This is my 24th year of teaching, all in St. Ignace. I've had a variety of jobs prior to going into education but none were fulfilling to me. My search for meaning and significance led me to teaching, which awakened my soul and gave me a sense of pride and purpose. I look forward to each day with excitement and enthusiasm. I'm on a constant journey of physical, mental, and spiritual self-improvement.
I strive to be a lifelong learner and a "green" friend to Mother Earth. I enjoy biking, hiking, painting, fishing, kayaking, traveling, and my newest hobby--learning the banjo.
Thank you for entrusting your children to me for a few hours each day. It is a real privilege for me to travel with them down the road of discovery and inquiry. My fondest hope for your children is that they gain a sense of purpose and direction for their lives, a love of learning, and that I may contribute a small part in their awakening to the joy of Life. I want students to continually wonder about what adventures lie ahead in their lifelong journey.
I pledge to do my very best and hope to have a positive impact on your child's educational experience.
